About Govt. Degree College Baroh

Government Degree College Baroh is a co-educational institute located in the vicinity of Baba Kalinath and the most famous Radha Krishan temple in Gram Panchayat Danoa, Tehsil Baroh district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh, India. It was established in July 1995 by Sh. Bali Ram Sharma, a well-known philanthropist in the memory of his father late Sh. Anant Ram Sharma, a resident of nearby Busal village with the prime objective of providing higher quality education to the rural youth of Tehsil Baroh on their doorsteps. The College was baptized as ‘Pandit Anant Ram Sanatan Dharam College’ Baroh. In the beginning years, the college started functioning with enrolment in Arts stream. The commerce subject was introduced in the year 1996. With the serious efforts of the college administration, classes in Science subject i.e., Non-medical were added in the year 2000. Subsequently in the year 2014 the Government of Himachal Pradesh took over ‘Pandit Anant Ram S.D. College Baroh vide its notification No. EDN/A/Kha (1)/15/2014, dated 7th February 2014 and it was renamed as ‘Government Degree College Baroh’ (GDC Baroh).

A panoramic view of majestic Dhauladhar Hills in the background adds extra glory and grace to the beauty of this institute. GDC Baroh is marching ahead very fast on its journey and thereby striving to gain academic excellence and all-around development of the students. The students are encouraged to take part in curricular and co-curricular activities along with their studies viz. NSS, Rovers & Rangers, Eco club, Red Ribbon club, cultural activities and sports etc. Presently, the college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla (HPU Shimla) and offering three years undergraduate courses namely Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Non- Medical), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.).
