Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a digital initiative by the Government of India, introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It is designed to provide students with flexibility in higher education by allowing them to earn, store, and transfer academic credits across institutions. The ABC functions as a virtual credit repository, enabling students to accumulate credits from different recognized universities and colleges, which can be redeemed later to complete their degrees. This system promotes multidisciplinary learning, lifelong education, and ease of mobility between institutions. It also supports initiatives like multiple entry-exit options in higher education, thus empowering students with greater academic freedom and personalized learning paths.
